Preparing For Summer
“O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it. Psalm 139:1-6
It is the last Sunday in May, and people have opened up cottages and are thinking about traveling on vacation. Last year we spent a week at Pike Lake, spending time in the Lake and the pool, and that place with the bouncy houses on Valley Road called Crickle Creek. A lot of fun! Part of the vacation mindset is to do something different. There is an old adage that says, “A change is as good as a rest.“ Some people will just do something different to relieve stress or to help things seem more interesting. But here WE are, approaching a summer. Sometimes the tendency when we travel is to forget about church – it is almost as if we vacation from our faith as well as our day to day life. Read more…
