Welcome to Louise Street Community Church of the Nazarene!

Greetings from the prairies of Saskatchewan. Louise Street Community Church is located in the largest city of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. Our building is just south of Circle Drive and Taylor Street, off Arlington Avenue. If you can find the Saskatoon Bridge Club or the Eastview Bowling Alley, look across the street!

Map to LSCCLouise Street Community Church is about people and relevance. From the sermon to small group discussions and studies you will find relevance for life in the 21st Century. We are all on a pilgrimage to understand ourselves in all areas of our life. Come and join us as we walk together to explore both God and life. Pastor Steve and his family has been with us since January 2007.

Using this site... The church building

Our church has 2 main web sites. This site provides information about who we are, our programs, and relevant links. The second web site is the sermon  blog, Practically Sanctified, where you will find each weeks sermon posted.

An overview...

SermonWe are  a small congregation who have had a presence in this city since 1930. We moved into our current building in 1994.

We meet each week in a Community Celebration service Sunday mornings at 10:30. Dress is casual. We have 2 sharing times during the service. The first is an opportunity to share a prayer request or praise item, maybe a verse of Scripture that you've been reading, or to just let everyone know where you are at. The second one takes place after the sermon. It is an opportunity to dialogue with the pastor and others about the sermon, about what you liked or didn't like, about something you connected with or reated to. This service is not a show. We want it to be part of our dialogue with each person about the common journey we are on.

Pastor Steve is currently working on a 7 part sermon series based on the 7 Points of Valor : Honor, Courage, Chivalry, Purity, Loyalty, Obedience, and Dedication. Though not new with CSB Ministries, they talk about the best of the best for men of God. One of the focus this year for our church is to challenge men to be all they can be in Christ. Can you imagine what a church would look like if the men were living vibrant and exciting lives focussed on Jesus? That's what we want to see God do in our midst! We are also starting a men's Bible Study/Prayer meeting that will also use the Herald of Christ for Leaders material as an ongoning challenge. Won't you come and try the difference?

From September to April we run small groups. They may be sermon-based or focus on a book study or a topic. They provide a place for you to connect with a small number of people that we trust will become friends. You will have a chance to discuss the sermon from the previous week and look into the Bible to see what it says about life in the 21st Century. It will be a time to encourage and pray for one another or to be encouraged and get prayed for. Check the small groups link for a current listing of meeting place, times, and facilitators.
